Claude Duet: a proactive assistant, with rollout limits that matter

The biggest benefit of a personal agent may be noticing that a customer is still waiting and preparing the material needed to respond. Claude Duet is aimed at that kind of proactive work.
The topic appeared in October 23 videos from Zaujaloma AI and Marek Bartoš. The official release notes date the preview to October 21, 2026. The video date is not the product's launch date.
What changes in daily work
The product announcement describes morning briefs and continued work on a cloud computer. Background activity consumes subscription usage limits. The operational question is how many useful decisions it prepares for the attention and usage it costs.
The current help page limits access to invited US Pro/Max accounts. Team/Enterprise and Microsoft 365 are unavailable. Users cannot watch or take over its browser; account checks are periodic. It is designed to request approval before messages, payments, signatures or deletions.
For a Czech business, this is not an immediate rollout recipe. Eligibility and organizational requirements come before connecting work data.
Start with missed follow-ups
Once suitable access is available, I would use one test inbox and twenty synthetic enquiries. Each gets a predefined recipient, deadline and expected response.
The agent prepares pending follow-ups, links to the original messages and proposed next steps. A reviewer checks the recipient, attachments and exact draft. Success means catching the right situation with few unnecessary interruptions, not producing more notifications.
I would measure missed deadlines, false urgency, review time and full-day usage, including background activity. Include a message that attempts to redirect the agent. The correct outcome must follow the owner's task rather than an instruction inside somebody else's email. This is my proposed pilot, not a completed Duet evaluation.
Keep time-critical work in a managed workflow
I would continue routing urgent support with fixed response targets through events and a queue in n8n, Make or a custom service. A proactive assistant can prepare context; a committed business process still needs its own records and escalation.
Duet offers an interesting way to organize work. I would make a deployment decision based on availability, accepted outcomes and approval quality, rather than the impression that an agent is always busy.
